motion control - electromate roboticsVaughan, Ontario, Canada — Motion Control Products — Mecademic is pleased to release firmware version 8.4 for its
Meca500 industrial robotic arm. Mecademic’s firmware releases are provided free of charge, along with complimentary technical support.

Features & benefits

Joint 6 multi-rotation with cartesian moves

Although rotating Joint 6 beyond the ±180° has always been possible with the Meca500 R3, it was limited to Joint-move-commands. With this new firmware, both point-to-point and linear commands can now be used outside of this limit. Apart from the benefit of no longer being limited in Cartesian space and requiring switching to Joint commands, new applications are now easier to implement directly with the Meca500.

Motion Control – Linear Servo Controller for Non-Commutated Motors!

Motion Control – Linear Servo Controller

Forestville, CA, – Motion Control – The SCA814 Linear Servo Controller was specifically designed to control single phase, non-comutated devices like voice coil motors. like it’s field proven predecessor the SCA754 is a high performance single axis DC motor controller and amplifier system. It is comprised of a highly integrated single PC board level product with a cohesive interface.

This card provides current amplification and analog servo control interfaces. The single-phase characteristic of the current amplifier makes it particularly well suited for DC motors such as galvanometers and voice coils.

Motion Control White Paper – A linear motor should be thought of as a rotary electric motor that has been cut along a radial plane and unrolled. The resultant motor is a direct drive linear electric motor that can produce linear motion without the need of pneumatic, hydraulic cylinders, or translation of rotary to linear motion with the use of belts or screws. Rotary motors produce torque whereas linear motors produce linear force.

The LFA-2010 actuator has a 10 mm range of motion with <50 nanometer positioning repeatability, and a small step response of time of <3 milliseconds. This high force, low noise voice coil motor is typically configured with an analog position feedback sensor and can be optionally equipped with a 1um resolution digital quadrature feedback element.

Motion Control – Linear Servo Controller Amplifier to Control Voice Coil Motors

motion control servo controller

Forestville, CA,   —  Motion Control – The SCA814 Linear Servo Controller was specifically designed to control single phase, non-commutated devices like voice coil motors.  like it’s field proven predecessor the SCA754 is a high performance single axis DC motor controller and amplifier system.  It is comprised of a highly integrated single PC board level product with a cohesive interface.  This card provides current amplification and analog servo control interfaces.  The single-phase characteristic of the current amplifier makes it particularly well suited for DC motors such as galvanometers and voice coils.  It was specifically developed for control of motor applications requiring both high temporal and spatial servo precision, such as machine vision, inspection, scientific imaging, medical imaging and other business applications.  This amplifier interfaces directly to many of the Equipment Solution motor/stage solutions.
Besides galvanometers the SCA814 is directly compatible with all the ESI linear voice coil stages and the optical scanners.  A bipolar linear or switching regulated power supply is required by the SCA814 amplifier.  Typically better performance can be achieved when using a linear power supply.  Equipment Solutions has several high-current supplies for this purpose including the SPS15 ±15V DC Switching Power Supply .
